My kitten is food aggressive ?

My new kitten is around 6 weeks old, is eating well and is litter trained. He's a good cat except he sometimes gets very aggressive over food. I leave him alone when he eats but if he can, he'll steal people food and growl, trying to eat it up quickly. Is it just a phase or should I be worried?
