Earthquakes becoming more and more common .. and more and more powerful ?

According to the experts earthquakes are not becoming more frequent but the trend is that they are more powerful. I don't think this is the worst year for powerful quakes but unfortunately they have been in populated areas and coupled with tsunamis.
