I can't tell if my older male cat is hurting my female kitten?

Is he neutered? If not, then he can be more aggressive towards her. If he's neutered and she's not really hollering that much, then they are playing. Females take longer to accept. I don't interfer unless the kitten actually is hollering too loud.
